NCWP Cluster one
Environment & Sustainable Development
NCWP’s Environment and Sustainable Development Cluster works with various organizations engaged in promoting a more deliberate approach to protecting women and enabling opportunities through the sustainable management of ecosystems and natural resources.
Our core advocacy
Building Community Resilience Through Eco-Innovations
Climate Resilience
Global climate change is restructuring livelihood systems which impact household relations where women are subjected to varying forms of socio-economic vulnerabilities. We are supporting initiatives that provide opportunities for women to adapt to the far reaching consequences of climate change.
Conservation
Declining and diminishing natural resources mean more pressure for Filipino women who are widely and more deeply involved in resource management. We are activating networks and support coalitions that aim to leverage the leadership gifts of Filipino women in the drive to conserve ecosystems.
Eco-Education
While there is a heightened consciousness today of the interconnected problems of the world's environmental conditions, a big gap remains in envisioning alternative visions. We are documenting best practices, transferring and sharing knowledge and technology to catalyze concrete community interventions.
Our 2021-2023
Action Plan
01
Oplan C.O.R.A.L. Park
We partnered with the C.O.R.A.L. Movement of the Heirs of the World (HOW) non-government organization in promoting the establishment of underwater eco-educational sites around the country where snorkelers, divers and free divers can actively learn and experience the importance of preserving our seas through various coastal and marine activities.
02
National Conference on Marine Conservation
We are organizing a national conference in 2023 that will focus on marine life conservation to document best practices, generate research insights, and network with academics, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
03
Eco-Exposure Trips for Women Leaders
We will bring women leaders from our partner communities and sectors around the Philippines to various nature conservation sites in Las Pinas-Paranaque, Batangas and Tawi-Tawi to explore best practices that can be replicated in their respective communities.
